I am the co-editor and co-creator of this little site here. I am also a Dive Instructor, Traveller, Beach Bum and PHP Programmer. In my spare time I can be found in the octopusses garden beneath the waves or in a far away country lounging in my hammock and gorging myself on street-stall food!

Nice!! I’d recommmend for your daughter to work at least half a year as a DM before becoming an instructor. Doing so will make the IE a breeze. Especially if she doesn’t have that many dives yet. Thailand is a great spot to start a diving career. Plenty of dive schools and opportunities.Indonesia is a bit more rewarding marine-life-wise, but it is usually harder finding a job.

This little fella was swimming around the rope that tied our boat to the beach. I spent the whole surface interval snorkeling with him. The planned classroom session had to be rescheduled to after the second dive of the day.

Nice one! What’s the temperature like this time of year? In case you haven’t heard, there’s a Guinness World Record attempt for the most people diving in Swanage this September. Portland is just round the corner from there, I think. All you need is an Open Water license. There’s more info here in case you and your club are interested: http://gwr.scubaclick.com
